Based on the tragic story of Giulia Cecchettin (Sabrina Martina), the film tells the story of an ordinary family in north-eastern Italy, whose everyday life is suddenly turned upside down.
Giulia is twenty-two years old, about to graduate, loves drawing and has simple yet profound dreams. On 11 November 2023, she agrees to meet her ex-boyfriend, convinced that she can finally put an end to their relationship. She will never return from that meeting: she is murdered by a man unable to accept her decision to end their relationship. For her father, Gino (Filippo Timi), and her siblings, Elena (Tecla Bossi) and Davide (Tommaso Allione), a nightmare begins, filled with pain and an absence that can never be filled.
But rather than retreating into their suffering, the family finds the strength to transform a private tragedy into a public commitment, giving a voice to a message of awareness and change. Through the memory of Giulia and her life cut short, the film reflects on the tragedy of femicide and the cultural roots of gender-based violence, encouraging the building of relationships founded on respect, empathy and the freedom to love without fear.
An intense story that pays tribute to Giulia and to all the women who have been denied the right to live out their future.
